Heavy damage due to earthquake in both neighboring countries on Tuesday night, more than 100 injured
New Delhi. Apart from India, strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Afghanistan and Pakistan on Tuesday night. Earthquake has caused havoc in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Many people died in both these countries, while more than 100 were injured. However, there is no news of loss of life or property in India.
The National Center for Seismology reported that the magnitude of the earthquake in Afghanistan was measured at 6.6. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region, 133 km southeast of Faizabad. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 156 km. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, China and Kyrgyzstan.
Two people have died in Afghanistan due to the earthquake. Shafiullah Rahimi, a spokesman for Afghanistan’s disaster relief ministry, said two people were killed in eastern Laghman province. Officials and aid workers said strong tremors were felt in Badakhshan and other northern regions.
News agency PTI reported that the intensity of the earthquake in Pakistan was measured at 6.8. According to local media, 9 people died due to the earthquake in Pakistan, while more than 160 people were injured. Two women are also included in the dead. Tremors were felt in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Kohat and other areas.
Earthquake tremors were felt in many parts of North India including Delhi-NCR on Tuesday night. People came in panic due to the earthquake that occurred at around 10:20 pm. Apart from Delhi-NCR, strong tremors were also felt in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Due to the earthquake in Delhi-NCR, buildings started shaking and people came out of their homes and offices in fear. Mobile services were disrupted in some parts of the Jammu region soon after the quake, an official said
