Haryana was a tourist from Ambala, accident happened during rafting
Rishikesh. A woman tourist drowned in the Ganges after her raft overturned near the Golf Course rapid in the Ganges in Rishikesh. The rafting guide and helper pulled the girl out of the Ganges. After which the girl was sent to the hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared her dead.
According to the police, Roopa Kumari (28) daughter Dineshwar Singh, a resident of Laxminagar Colony, Ambala, Haryana, had come to visit Rishikesh. Went out for rafting with friends on Sunday morning. The raft coming towards Phoolchatti overturned near the level 3 plus golf course rapid. During this, Rupa Kumari drowned in the Ganges. Station in-charge Ritesh Shah told that doctors in AIIMS declared Roopa Kumari dead.
