Good news: 50 city buses will run soon in Haldwani city

Haldwani. 50 city buses will soon be operational in the city and surrounding areas. For this, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat has instructed the RTO to determine the route. Said that running of city buses will provide a lot of relief to the people commuting from Kathgodam to Amrapali. Presently they have to reach Amrapali by changing three stoppages.
In the review of the Divisional Transport Department of Kumaon Division at the camp office on Tuesday, the Commissioner said that the survey of routes for city buses has been done. Instructed Divisional Transport Officer Sandeep Saini to operate city buses on various routes of the city. The commissioner said that soon after Haldwani, a survey will be done for city bus routes in Rudrapur city as well. Instructed the divisional transport officers across the division that a meeting should be held every month regarding road safety.
RTO Almora DrGurdev Singh informed that the land has been identified for the office in Bageshwar, Ranikhet. The office buildings will be constructed after the land is allotted. He said that 8 e-rickshaws are being operated in Almora. Issued instructions to make arrangements. Several departmental officers including Deputy Director Economics Rajendra Tiwari, RTO Sandeep Saini, Dr. Gurdev Singh were present in the meeting.
Divisional Transport Officer Sandeep Saini said that action is being taken to suspend the license for driving the vehicle at more than the prescribed speed. Apart from this, action is being taken to suspend the license of drivers for disobeying red beacon, talking on mobile while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and not wearing helmet. He told that in the year 2022-23, the Transport Department has received a total revenue of Rs 376 crore from the Kumaon division. The commissioner instructed to give notice on depositing the challan amount.
