A tense situation arose in Haldwani when the team that had gone to demolish the illegal madrasa and namaz place built on government land in Banbhulpura, a Muslim dominated area, was attacked. More than 250 people including policemen and media persons were injured in this attack. In view of the tense situation, four companies of para military force were called. Considering the seriousness of the situation, preparations are being made to shut down the internet.
Uttarakhand Police is identifying the miscreants and stone pelters of the violence in Banbhulpura on the basis of CCTV footage obtained from the spot. The situation is currently under control due to the prompt action of the police.
