Dehradun. In Uttarakhand, the interaction of sunshine and clouds continues from the mountains to the plains. In some places in the plains, the temperature has started rising due to sunshine, but the chill continues in the morning and evening. Maximum and minimum temperatures remain below normal in most areas. However, mercury may rise rapidly in the next few days.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light rain and snowfall in areas at altitude above 3500 meters in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh. At the same time, in the plains the weather may be generally dry to partly cloudy at some places.
On Wednesday morning there was sunshine in Doon and surrounding areas. However, the sky became partly cloudy in the afternoon. There was limited sunlight in the hilly areas. Light snowfall has also been reported at some places on the peaks. Meanwhile, in most areas including Doon, the atmosphere is cold due to the maximum and minimum temperatures being below normal. There is chill in the morning and evening. An increase of three to four degrees Celsius is possible in the temperature in the next few days.
According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, there are chances of light rain and snowfall in areas at altitude above 3500 meters in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh in the state. There may be partly cloudy sky at some places in the lower areas. In the plains, the weather is likely to be dry to slightly cloudy. However, there may be an increase in mercury.
