If you also have 2000 notes then do this work first

New Delhi. The Reserve Bank of India has put the 2000 rupee note out of circulation on Friday. If you also have 2000 rupee notes, then you can exchange it by taking it to the bank. According to the new decision of the Reserve Bank of India, these notes will no longer be in circulation. After 30 September 2023, these notes will not be issued from the bank.
You don’t need to panic now. 2000 note has not been discontinued. These notes have just been taken out of circulation. That is, these notes will be gradually phased out. If you also have 2000 notes then you do not have to worry much. You can return these notes back to the bank. Bank will give you new note in exchange of 2000 note. Let us tell you, taking a big decision, in November 2016, along with the announcement of demonetisation, the RBI issued a note of Rs 2,000. After 8 years, now this note is being closed. You can exchange only a maximum of 20 thousand rupees note from the bank at a time.
If you have a note of 2000 thousand rupees, then by 30 September 2023, you will be able to exchange it for 2000 rupee notes by going to any bank branch. From next week, from May 23, 2000 thousand rupee notes can be exchanged or deposited in any bank. RBI had issued these notes in November 2016 under section 24(1) of the RBI Act 1934. This decision was taken so that at that time the notes of 500 and 1000 rupees were removed from circulation.
