In Haldwani, husband killed his wife, locked the door outside the room and ran away with two girls.

. Husband murdered his wife in Neelanchal Colony Phase 5 of Transport Nagar outpost. The woman’s tongue and eyes were out, hence the police are suspecting murder by strangulation. The incident took place on the night of April 8.
In the early hours of April 9, the killer locked the door of the room and fled with the two girls. The incident came to light on Wednesday when the landlord came to get the room painted. Police reached the spot after receiving the information and took possession of the body and kept it in the mortuary. The woman’s relatives have also been contacted. Meanwhile, the absconding murder accused is being searched.
Saurabh’s son Sonu, living in Subhash Colony, Rudrapur, had a love marriage with Afsana alias Aastha about eight years ago. Both of them worked as labourers. From February 29, Saurabh along with his wife and two daughters started living on rent on the second floor of Gangaram Maurya’s house in Shivaji Colony, Neelanchal Colony, Phase 5. According to landlord Gangaram, there were frequent disputes between the couple.
Saurabh came home at around 12 o’clock in the night of 8th April. he was drunk. There was a fierce dispute between the husband and wife at midnight. Both the girls were present there. At around four in the morning, Saurabh locked the room from outside and ran away with the girls. On April 10, landlord Gangaram’s grandson Pappu reached Saurabh’s room to whitewash. When the latch was opened, Afsana was lying on her stomach on the ground. The dead body was rotten and a foul smell was emanating. He informed the landlord about this.
After receiving the information, Kotwal Umesh Malik and Transport Nagar outpost incharge Deepak Bisht also reached the spot. Kotwal Umesh Kumar Malik told that the woman’s husband is absconding. Hence there is suspicion of murder. The police is seriously investigating every angle. The post-mortem of the body will be conducted by a panel of doctors in the presence of the magistrate on Thursday. Here, confirmed police sources have accepted that the woman was strangled after her tongue and eyes came out.
