. In the wedding procession, people from the bride and groom’s side clashed over the DJ and wedding ceremony. In which the heads of four people were injured and 14 people including the groom were injured. Angered by the incident, the bride refused to marry. The matter reached the police post. After negotiations between both the parties, the groom’s side returned empty-handed without the bride.
According to the information, the daughter of a woman resident of Ravindranagar was to get married on Friday night. The groom, a resident of Pant Colony of Kichha, had reached Ravindranagar at around ten in the night with a wedding procession with 70 people. The bride’s side welcomed the wedding guests. When the DJ was switched off as it was too late in the night, people from the groom’s side got angry and started creating ruckus. DJ’s matter somehow calmed down. But again there was a dispute between the bride and groom’s side during the ritual organized before the marriage. The matter escalated so much that there was a fierce scuffle and fight between both the parties. Due to which there was chaos in the marriage. The bride’s side alleges that the wedding guests broke the mandap. All the eating utensils were thrown away and the tent was also destroyed. Ashish, Kapil, Milan and three other people from the bride’s side were injured in the fight. From the groom’s side, groom Shani Sagar, his brothers Pawan, Rakesh, Mukesh, Ricky, sister Kavita, Sunita, cousins Rajan, Raja, Sumit, Pradeep and cousin Deepak were injured.
On information, Housing Development Post in-charge Arvind Bahuguna reached the spot with the team and took information about the matter. The injured were treated in the hospital. Here, an agreement was reached between the two parties on Saturday. But the bride refused to marry. After which the groom’s party returned empty handed without the bride. During the fight in the wedding procession, the contract driver of Haldwani depot who came to intervene was also injured. Ravindranagar resident Vishal Verma is a roadways bus driver at Haldwani depot. At the wedding ceremony organized in Ravindranagar on Friday night, his partner Chandan Arya, a roadways bus driver at Haldwani depot, was also included in the marriage procession from Kichha. When Vishal reached the wedding ceremony to meet Chandan, a fight broke out there. Seeing this, Vishal started interrupting. In which his head exploded. He went to the hospital and got treatment.
