Roadways contract terminated from dhaba on passenger’s complaint, action will also be taken against driver-conductor

Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami not only expressed his displeasure over the incident of robbery and extortion of passengers at the dhaba contracted by Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, but also directed the officials of the Transport Corporation to terminate the contract of the dhaba.
The Chief Minister took cognizance of the news published in ‘Ek Dainik Akhbar’ on Friday in this regard and directed that the prices of food items should be checked by inspecting the contracted dhabas. On which the Transport Corporation management immediately terminated the contract of Green Highway Dhaba located in Bijnor and issued orders to the bus drivers not to stop the buses there. Complaints about illegal extortion are often received from passengers at bus stops on long distance routes and at the dhabas of the Transport Corporation contracted for catering to the passengers.
Last Thursday, the latest case came to light on the Kotdwar-Delhi route, when the Transport Corporation bus going from Kotdwar to Delhi stopped at the Green Highway dhaba of contractor Mohammad Sadiq located in Bijnor. Here the passengers were told the price of one paratha was Rs 50, but Rs 150 were charged. Kotdwar resident Manoj Kumar was also traveling in this bus and Rs 300 was taken from him for two parathas.
After reaching Delhi, Manoj Kumar had sent a complaint in this regard to Divisional Manager of Transport Corporation Sanjay Gupta on mobile. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directly took cognizance of this and instructed Dr. Anand Srivastava, Managing Director of Transport Corporation, to immediately terminate the contract of the dhaba. Corporation General Manager Deepak Jain issued an immediate order and terminated the contract of the dhaba.
Instead of protesting against the looting of the contracted Dhaba operator, the Transport Corporation is also preparing to take action against the bus driver and conductor of Kotdwar depot who supported the Dhaba operator. The Divisional Manager has asked the Assistant General Manager of Kotdwar Depot to submit a report against both the employees.
