Along with Doon, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar are also included in the top three. This layoff was done after completing physical verification and other processes for a year.
The main reasons for this are the death of the voter, shifting to another place and inclusion of names in two different lists. At the same time, complete information about the people removed from the voter list has also been given to the political parties. So that no questions can be raised on the process. The State Election Commission is moving ahead rapidly with the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections.
During the survey, along with adding new voters, it was also seen what was the status of the names registered in the previous elections. After the verification process which took place between November 9, 2022 and September 21, 2023, 177609 names were removed from the voter list of 13 districts. Information about the person’s name, assembly constituency, voter ID number, booth location etc. has also been recorded on the website. The number of names removed from the list in Nainital district is 16020.
ADM Nainital Shivcharan Dwivedi says that after collecting the death certificates of those who have died, an investigation was conducted by the BLO. A committee was formed for shifting voters in the presence of BLO and Pradhan. After finding these names, notices were sent through SDM.
After being shifted to another place, the name was removed from one place when the voter card was made there too. The third category was of those people who were included in the list of two places, village and city. Most people do this while voting in the Prime Minister’s election.
