Lightning struck Dunda of Uttarkashi, 350 goats died

Saturday night’s incident, the administration team will go to the spot today

About 350 sheep and goats died due to lightning accompanied by heavy rains in the Dunda area on Saturday late evening. The incident is of Khatukhal area of Dunda block.
It is being told that Sanjeev Rawat, a resident of Barsu village of Bhatwadi block, was bringing his sheep and goats from Rishikesh towards Uttarkashi. Around 350 goats have died due to lightning in the middle (forest) of Khattu Khal village amid heavy rain late in the evening.
Bhatwadi block chief Vinita Rawat said that the incident took place near Khattu Khal village, in which the biggest animal loss has taken place. Tehsildar Pratap Singh Chauhan said that the incident took place at Mathna Tok near Khatukhal. Block chief Vinita Rawat informed the District Magistrate and District Disaster Management Department about the incident.
Tehsildar Dunda Pratap Singh Chauhan said that there have been reports of death of goats due to lightning. On Sunday morning, the team of Administration and Veterinary Department will reach the spot to assess the damage and information about the causes of death.
