Lucknow engineering student dies while bathing in Ganga

Second consecutive incident of drowning, two friends had reached the ghat to take bath.

A young man from Lucknow, who had come to visit Rishikesh with a friend, drowned while bathing in the Ganges. The youth is an engineer in an IT company in Hyderabad. SDRF team is busy searching for the youth. At present no trace of the young man has been found.
SDRF Inspector Kavindra Sajwan said that Rohan Joshi (26 years), son of Chandrakant Joshi, resident of Ashutosh Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Alambagh Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, had come here to visit with his friend Deepak Nigam, resident of Parag Road, LDA Colony, Lucknow.
On Tuesday morning, both the friends reached Dhruv Ghat near Sacha Dham of Munikireti police station area to take bath. While taking bath, Rohan Joshi suddenly drowned in the strong current of Ganga. Water police and SDRF team were called to the spot by the police. A search was made for the young man in Ganga but he could not be found. Deep divers’ help is also being taken to search for the youth. This is the second consecutive incident of drowning in Ganga. Last Monday too, a youth resident of Delhi died due to drowning in the Ganga at the boat ghat of Laxman Jhula. Now once again there has been an incident of drowning of a tourist.
