Major administrative reshuffle in Uttarakhand: Changes in departments of 38 officers

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government changed the departments of a total of 38 officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Provincial Civil Service (PCS) and Secretariat Service in a major administrative reshuffle late Saturday night. In this reshuffle, the charges of 25 IAS, 12 PCS and one Secretariat Service officer were changed. The order was issued late night from the Chief Secretariat.

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has been relieved from the post of Finance, Personnel and Vigilance Department and Agricultural Production Commissioner and has been given the charge of Chief Resident Commissioner in Delhi, Chief Investment Commissioner and Chairman of all three energy corporations. At the same time, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu has been given the additional responsibility of Finance and Agricultural Production Commissioner along with his current departments.

Changes have also been made in the Education Department. Additional Secretary Abhishek Ruhela has been made Director General of Education, while Jharna Kamthan has been removed from this post and made Additional Secretary Finance. Secretary Shailesh Bagauli has now been given the responsibility of Personnel and Vigilance Department along with the Home Department.

There has also been a reshuffle in the Revenue and Panchayat departments. The charge of Revenue Council has been withdrawn from Secretary Chandresh Kumar, and Secretary Ranveer Singh Chauhan has been given the responsibility of State Property. Secretary Deependra Kumar Chaudhary has been given the charge of AYUSH and AYUSH Education Department.

In other important reshuffles, Secretary Skill Development C. Ravishankar has been given the responsibility of Forest Department, Dr. V. Shanmugam has been given the responsibility of Director Audit, and Vinod Kumar Suman has been relieved from State Property and given the responsibility of Director Audit. Sridhar Babu Addanki, who was on compulsory waiting, has been given the charge of Planning.

In the major changes in PCS officers, Banshilal Rana has been made Additional Chief Executive Officer Tourism, Ram Dutt Paliwal has been removed from the charge of Mandi Director and Dr. RS Tolia has been given the responsibility of Uttarakhand Administration Academy. Chandrasingh Dharmashaktu has been made the Director of Social Welfare.

In the Secretariat Service, Surendra Singh Rawat has been removed from the post of Secretary of Subordinate Services Selection Commission and this responsibility has now been given to PCS Vipra Trivedi. Apart from this, several District Magistrates and Chief Development Officers of Tehri, Chamoli, Nainital, and Haridwar have also been transferred.
This major reshuffle is being seen as an effort to increase the administrative efficiency and efficiency of the state government. This extensive change in the charges of officers may affect policy making and implementation of schemes in the coming time.
