Mother, grandfather, buyer and broker arrested for human trafficking

Haridwar. The mother struck a deal with her own 3-month-old son for Rs 8 lakh. Kankhal police have arrested the accused mother, maternal grandfather, buyer and broker. The police have also recovered rs 5 lakh from the accused. SSP Ajay Singh has patted the back of Kankhal police.
Late on Thursday night, Kankhal police received information that innocents were being bought and sold in a house near Rajvihar Phase 1 football ground. Within minutes, the police reached the spot and raided and arrested two women and two men on the spot. Harshi, wife of Puran, a resident of Rajagarden Gali No. 3, told the police that her brother Mahavir had been married for ten years and had a daughter. The brother-in-law wanted a boy, so a woman named Annu, known to him, said to sell her divorced niece Monica’s three-month-old son. Her brother had agreed to buy the baby from sister-in-law Monica. So Naresh Rathod said that Monica wife Arjun Thapa, her father Pintu residents of village Subkheda Ponta, district Sirmaur Himachal Pradesh and buyer Mahadev son Deepa resident Ranipokhari Dehradun were caught. The SO said that the deal of masoom was fixed for eight lakh, in return for which the buyer had brought an amount of five lakh rupees.
