Rampur Tiraha incident : Surrender of 18 accused including police station chief

On October 1, 1994, 7 agitators going to Delhi for the demand of separate Uttarakhand were martyred in firing.

On October 1, 1994, 18 policemen, including the then SHO, accused in the Rampur Tiraha shootout, surrendered. The Additional District and Sessions Judge Court ordered all the surrendered accused to recall the warrants on a bond of Rs 1 lakh each.
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court No. 7, Judge Shakti Singh had issued non-bailable warrants and ordered them to appear on March 3, rejecting the attendance waiver of 23 policemen. On Friday, 18 accused including the former station in-charge appeared. In these Sanjeev Kumar, Tamkin Ahmed, Virendra Kumar, Brajesh Kumar, Sumer Singh, Kushalpal, Vijaypal, Kripal Singh, Kanwarpal Singh, Prabal Prakash, Virendra Pratap, Satish Chand Sharma, Devendra Singh, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Milap Singh, Naresh Kumar Tyagi, Surendra Singh and Radha Mohan Dwivedi were involved. Non-bailable warrants are issued for five other accused.
ADGC Pravinder Singh said that Vikram Singh, the accused in the Rampur Tiraha incident, has not appeared in the court till date. The court has issued orders to attach his property but the CBI has not taken any action so far. The court has ordered the CBI SP to present the attachment or death report of the accused in the court on the next date. The court has also issued non-bailable warrants against five other accused regarding this matter
