Gold price 27 lakhs, first case of gold smuggling by plane in Uttarakhand
Dehradun. A smuggler carrying half a kilo of gold from Dubai has been caught at Jolly Grant Airport. Smuggler was bringing gold hiding in his private part (anus). The cost of gold is Rs 27 lakh. For the first time in Uttarakhand, the case of gold smuggling has been caught.
As soon as he landed at the airport, the custom team took him into custody. The incident is being reported on Monday evening. Security officials had received an e-mail from the concerned agencies about the person coming to Doon from Dubai via Lucknow flight. In this, a person was reported to have brought gold.
As soon as the flight landed at the airport, airport security personnel took the man into custody. In the investigation, about five 500 grams of gold was found from him. The security personnel called the custom officials and handed over the accused to them.
The team of Customs handed over the person to the team of Director of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) from Bareilly. Airport Director Prabhakar Mishra has confirmed this. It is being told that due to Dehradun airport not being international, the smuggler first reached Lucknow with gold from Dubai. Changed the flight from there and landed at Dehradun airport on Monday evening. According to airport sources, the man had hidden the gold in his private part (anus).
