The doors of Shri Hemkunt Sahib will open on 25th May, preparations complete for the departure of the first batch on 22nd May

Rishikesh. The doors of Shri Hemkunt Sahib, the center of faith of Sikh devotees, will be formally opened for the devotees on 25th May. For this, the first batch will be sent off from Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib located on Laxmanjhula Road on 22nd May. This batch will depart for the Yatra under the leadership of Panj Pyaras.

The first batch will be flagged off by Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. On this occasion, along with the prominent saints associated with the Sant Samaj, eminent citizens of the city will also be present. Kirtan Darbar and Ardas will also be organized in the Gurudwara at the time of departure of the batch.

Every year during the Hemkunt Sahib Yatra, lakhs of devotees reach for darshan not only from India but also from abroad. Due to snowfall, the gates of Hemkunt Sahib are closed in winter, which are opened in the last week of May every year. This year the gates are going to open on 25th May, for which all the necessary preparations have been completed by the Uttarakhand government and the Gurudwara Management Committee.

Special arrangements have been made by the administration for the safety of the devotees, health facilities and monitoring of the route. Guidelines have been given to the local administration, police and health department to conduct the yatra smoothly.

A lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees about this yatra, and a large number of devotees are ready to leave for Hemkunt Sahib with the first batch.
