The Public Works Department hired AS Construction Company of Ghaziabad to check the feasibility of the flyover in Haldwani. The company has submitted its report. The company has given three options. Of these, the Administration and Public Works Department has found the first option most appropriate. According to this option, two flyovers will be built on the pillars. One, starting near Gandhi School on Bareilly Road and alighting a little ahead of Tikonia Square on Nainital Road. Its length will be 2.8 km, while the second flyover will start a little ahead of Jelrod intersection and come down near Laldanth. Whose length will be 1.62 km. Rs 231 crore will be spent in the construction of the flyover. This does not include the cost of land acquisition.
The company designing the flyover had given three options after conducting a survey. There was to be no change in the design of the Nainital road in all the three options. Only the design of Kaladhungi Road had to be changed. The first option was that the flyover of Nainital Road would go up near Gandhi School and come down a little ahead of Tikonia intersection. The second flyover will rise a little ahead of Jailroad intersection and come down near Laldanth. In the second option, a flyover was to be built on Kaladhungi Road starting from Jail Road till Kusumkheda. 278.9 crore would have been spent on this. The third option was that the flyover would start from Gandhi School Nainital Road, go up to Teenpani and make a T point on Kaladhungi Road, connect with this flyover and land at Laldanth. 271.3 crore expenditure was proposed on this.
Ashok Chaudhary, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department, told that the first option is the best. This will reduce the traffic load on Nainital Road by 60 percent and on Kaladhungi Road by 40 percent. The DM has called a meeting with all the stakeholders on August 4. There will be a discussion about the flyover in this. It will be told that its formation will not affect the market in any way. Along with this, the suggestions of the stakeholders will also be taken. DM Vandana has asked the Public Works Department that if the road is widened without making a flyover, how much will be spent on it. How much encroachment will have to be removed? Along with this, it was also said that the amount of money being spent on the flyover, the road will be widened. Lonivi has started working on this proposal also
