Two girls of Nainital district got the status of boys

DM gave identity card and certificate of gender change

Haldwani. Two girls, who have been living opposite sex since birth, have now got the status of boys. After registering the names of both on the National Portal for Transgender Persons of the Government of India, the DM has handed over the identity cards and certificates to them.
Two girls from Nainital district had applied on the portal to get boy status. DM Dhiraj Garbyal said that the applicants have been issued identity cards and certificates under Section 5 of the Bill.
District Social Welfare Officer Dipankar Ghildiyal has been made the nodal for this work. The District Social Welfare Officer said that after applying on the portal, physical verification of the documents of boys and girls is done, so that no wrong certificate can be made.
The Transgender Persons Act 2019 has been implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Under this, young men and women living opposite gender have to apply online on the National Portal for Transgender Persons portal.
