Women home guards to be recruited for 330 posts in these 10 districts

Women candidates must now pass 10th standard

The way has been cleared for recruitment of Home Guard Women Platoon in 10 districts of the state. The government has approved the home guard department to recruit. The recruitment process will be started soon by the department. The recruitment process is expected to be completed by July 2023.
On December 6, 2022, on the foundation day of the Home Guard Department, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced the recruitment of women home guards for 330 posts in 10 districts. These include Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Uttarkashi and Tehri districts. Here, one female platoon of Home Guards volunteers is to be recruited for the posts of women home guards.
At present, 239 posts of women home guards are sanctioned in the Home Guard Department, out of which 215 women home guards are posted. These women home guards are serving in Dehradun, Haridwar and Nainital districts. The recruitment process is going to start in the remaining 10 districts.
To get admitted to home guards, women candidates now have to pass 10th standard. Among the previous recruitments, the fifth pass in the hill districts and the eighth pass in the plains districts were educational qualifications.
