During the worship-rituals of Mother Goddess, a bandanwar of fresh green leaves of mango or ashoka is applied at the entrance of the house. The belief behind doing this is that it does not allow negative or evil forces to enter the house. It is believed that during the worship of Mother Goddess, the vengeful forces also enter the house along with the Goddess, but due to the bandanwar on the main door, the vengeful forces remain outside the house
