Lover disposed of the body in Dehradun forest, accused arrested
Dehradun. A girl from Patel Nagar Kotwali area was brutally strangled to death by her lover. After the murder, the accused locked the body in a suitcase and fled after throwing it in the forest of Asharodi. The murder case was revealed after three months. Police have arrested the accused Rashid resident of Bagowali police station New Mandi district Muzaffarnagar Uttar Pradesh.
On 29 January 2024, Shahrul resident Jamalpurkala police station Kankhal district Haridwar had registered the missing of his daughter Shahnoor. He told that his daughter used to work in a beauty parlor while living in Sanskruti Vihar Colony of Dehradun, who has been missing since 26 December 2023. In this case, Patel Nagar Kotwali police registered a missing report and started searching for the girl. During investigation, the police found out that a young man named Rashid was living in a live-in relationship with the girl, who is absconding.
On March 30, the police arrested the accused from Sanskrit Vihar Colony. During interrogation, Rashid told that he used to work as a motorcycle repairer in his village Bagowali. In the year 2017-18, he got acquainted with Shahnoor through internet media. After this, they were constantly in touch with each other.
In September 2023, the accused came to Dehradun to meet Shahnoor and both of them started living in a room near ISBT. On the night of December 26, when Rashid reached home late, there was a fight between the two over this matter and the accused strangled Shahnoor to death.
After this, the accused withdrew Rs 17000 from Shahnoor’s ATM card and bought a big suitcase from Vishal Mega Mart located in Lalpur. He put the girl’s body in the suitcase and tied it in the back seat of the scooty and fled after throwing it in the forest of Asharodi.
