Dehradun.
Elderly people in the state will soon be able to get treatment sitting at home. The health department is preparing a plan for this. Under the scheme, the department will regularly inquire about the well-being of the elderly. At the same time, facilities like medical consultation, pathology test, medicine etc. will be provided to them at home.
Actually, with increasing age, health problems also start increasing unexpectedly. Not only this, the body of elderly people has less ability to fight diseases. In such a situation, they easily become vulnerable to changes in weather and all kinds of infections. Considering all this, the government has taken a big step.
The elderly require utmost care. But it is very challenging for the elderly to go to the hospital again and again. Especially in remote mountainous areas, where access to health units is not as easy. In such a situation, the state government has taken up the responsibility of taking care of them. The elderly will now get treatment sitting at home. For which the state government is coming up with a special health scheme. Under this scheme, the health department will call the elderly above 60 years of age every 15 days and provide them the facility of health checkup sitting at home.
This scheme will be started soon. Under this scheme, a team of health workers will be formed. Which will include ASHAs, CHOs etc. After getting the information over the phone, this team will go to the old man’s house and investigate. If needed, he will also be taken to the hospital.
About 8.70 lakh Ayushman cards have been made for people above 60 years of age in the state. At the same time, 2.91 people of this age group have so far taken treatment under the Ayushman scheme. The department also has information about their health problems. The department will reach out to the elderly through this data available with the State Health Authority.
A plan to provide treatment facilities to the elderly at home is taking shape in the state. In which they will get the facility of medical consultation, investigation etc. There are also regular medicines for the elderly. It is an effort to provide them medicines at home. Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Health Minister
Principal of Doon Medical College, Dr. Ashutosh Sayana has expressed his displeasure over the negligence in preparing the files related to the claims of Ayushman Yojana. In the review meeting of Ayushman Yojana held at Doon Hospital Auditorium on Wednesday, he directed that due to non-signature on the files, the claims of the departments whose claims are being rejected from the State Health Authority level due to lack of signatures, stamps, OT notes etc. The incentive amount given to the concerned doctors should be stopped.
