Dehradun. The agitation of roadways employees in support of pending demands may increase the difficulties of those traveling in buses. On Friday, the operation of roadways buses will remain closed in other cities including Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Roorkee of Garhwal division. Those traveling on other routes including Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Gurugram, Agra, Lucknow, Moradabad, Bareilly, Dharamshala, Panipat, Ludhiana, Saharanpur will have to face trouble. Roadways service will be stalled across the state on January 31.
Roadways management had called the employees for reconciliation talks in the past, but Roadways Managing Director Rohit Meena himself did not reach the talks. This increased the anger of the employees. He refused to suspend the movement. From January 31, an indefinite strike will be started in the entire state and buses will be jammed. The joint front of five roadways employees organizations has started agitation from Monday demanding regularization of about 3000 contractual and special category employees and immediate purchase of 500 buses. There was a one-day strike in Tanakpur division on Monday and in Nainital division on Tuesday and 100 percent stoppage of bus operators
